My satellite exhibition of Hong Kong International Photo Festival 2018 was held at JCCAC last month. My work was critiquing the concepts of photo-taking, a photo exhibition and the audiences.
How do we see a pictures, esp. portraits, in photo exhibition ?
As we progress from using our naked eye, to brushes, cameras and even 3-D scanners, are we recording, improving and creating images closer or even better to the reality ?
What do we expect to see at a photographic exhibition? Have we ever paid attention to the audiences beside us?
In the exhibition, no printed photos were shown at the beginning. While audiences are invited to be 3D scanned and become part of the exhibition later. An Augmented-reality app was also made throughout the period to re-create the time-space that the audiences visited.
